Madrid between Two Shores (2005-2007)

Was an EQUAL Initiative project co-financed by the European Social Found.

The project aimed to strengthen cultural diversity and to build bridges between the immigrant community and the local community in Madrid. For that purpose, Directa Foundation  carried out a series of activities such as studies, forums, workshops, courses, online catalogues, informative campaigns and pilot actions. These actions have direct effect on the key spaces of our social coexistence: schools, enterprises, families, cultural environments, communication media and internet.

Fundación Directa was the project coordinator. The project was also implemented by the Secretary of State for Immigration and Emigration, Casa de América, Tomillo - Economic Studies Centre (CEET), the Tomillo Foundation, the Chandra Foundation, the Association of Investigation and Specialization in Latin-American Themes and Aula Solidaridad.
